Candle Making Class
Candle-Making Class Experience & Timing
Our candle-making classes are designed to be a guided, hands-on experience and typically run approximately two to two-and-a-half hours in total.
We kindly ask all participants to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled class time. This arrival window allows our team to properly prepare for the session, review expectations, and complete the Release of Liability form, which must be dated and signed prior to participation.
During this initial period, each participant will also receive a one-on-one fragrance consultation, where we assist in selecting and custom-blending fragrances to create a truly personalized candle.
First Hour: Education & Creation
The first hour of the class is instructional and interactive. During this time, we:
- Review the raw materials and ingredients used in our candles
- Explain our formulation process and why specific materials are selected
- Discuss the purpose and function of each component, including the glass vessel, wick, wick sticker, wick holder, and supporting tools
- Guide participants through custom fragrance blending
- Demonstrate and assist with the wax mixing and pouring process, culminating in pouring hot wax into the selected vessel
Second Hour: Curing & Relaxation
The second hour allows the candle sufficient time to cool and set for safe transport. During this period:
- Guests are welcome to relax, enjoy conversation, and partake in permitted drinks or snacks
- Participants attending individually may step out and explore Downtown Seneca, which offers nearby attractions and businesses, including a brewery adjacent to our studio
Completion & Pickup
At the conclusion of the curing period, the candle will be ready for:
- Wick trimming
- Labeling
- Final packaging
Once complete, participants may take their finished candle home and conclude their experience.
We also include a complimentary 10% discount on your total purchase of any additional Mely Bee Co. products only available the same day of your candle-making class.
Our goal is to provide a safe, professional, and enjoyable environment while delivering a meaningful, educational, and memorable candle-making experience. We look forward to welcoming you and helping you create something uniquely yours.
